The purpose of the project was to train the 200 women on bio-farming methods of agriculture, including the preparation of vermin compost, bio-pesticide tonic, creation of indigenous seed banks, training on drip irrigation, development of kitchen gardens, marketing skills, etc. for poor women in Kadavur Block of Karur District, Tamil Nadu, India. These arrangements would enable them to provide organic foods and nutritional vegetables and sell them in the markets at an increased price, earn for their livelihood, and come out of poverty.
